Prior to the v0.25.0 release, users had no way to validate the origin's host. In v0.25.0, a new \"--allowed-hosts\" flag was introduced alongside the existing \"--allowed-origins\" flag, enabling users to specify permitted hosts at server startup. Both flags default to \"*\", allowing users to implement strict access controls as needed without breaking existing setups. If either flag is set to \"*\", the server will output a startup warning about potential vulnerabilities. Documentation has also been updated to highlight these security considerations.","title":"CVE description"}],"references":[{"category":"self","summary":"CVE-2026-11624 on HarborGuard Database","url":"https://database.harborguard.co/cve/CVE-2026-11624"},{"category":"external","summary":"CVE Record","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-11624"},{"category":"external","summary":"github.com","url":"https://github.com/googleapis/mcp-toolbox/issues/3113"},{"category":"external","summary":"github.com","url":"https://github.com/googleapis/mcp-toolbox/pull/2254"}]},"product_tree":{"branches":[{"category":"vendor","name":"Google","branches":[{"category":"product_name","name":"MCP Toolbox for Databases","branches":[{"category":"product_version_range","name":"<0.25.0","product":{"name":"Google MCP Toolbox for Databases <0.25.0","product_id":"CSAFPID-1","product_identification_helper":{"cpe":"cpe:2.3:a:google:mcp_toolbox_for_databases:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*"}}}]}]}]},"vulnerabilities":[{"cve":"CVE-2026-11624","title":"The Model Context Protocol has a security warning advising servers to validate the \"Origin\" header on all incoming connections to prevent DNS rebinding attacks","notes":[{"category":"description","text":"The Model Context Protocol has a security warning advising servers to validate the \"Origin\" header on all incoming connections to prevent DNS rebinding attacks.
